It is mandatory as it provides proof that an individual has enough knowledge to be able to work safely on a Construction site and without posing any risk to any other colleagues. Gaining a Construction NVQ is the way to gaining a more advanced CSCS Card. The higher the level of NVQ an individual achieves, the more advanced a CSCS Card that can be gained. This is what makes an individual stand out for potential employers, as the individual has a nationally recognised qualification.
