Digital Construction Week 2021 – What You Missed
After the success of our first exhibition at UK Construction Week, last week we attended another exhibition at ‘Digital Construction Week 2021’ at the London ExCel from the 24th-25th November. We were thrilled to attend the 2-day exhibition and to meet all of you that came to pay us a visit at our H57 stand, especially all the University students who had questions about the construction industry. But in case you missed it, here is a quick round up of all the things we were involved in at Digital Construction Week.
What is Digital Construction Week?
Digital Construction Week is an exhibition that aims to assist in making the construction industry use technology to build smarter and efficiently. The 2-day event provides construction firms across the nation to focus on digital design, construction, engineering, manufacturing and operations, as well as the tools and processes shaping the future of the built industry.
SkillFlow
In our efforts to help digitise construction health and safety training, we revealed our soon to be released app ‘SkillFlow’ that we are so excited to get up-and-running. SkillFlow is an online app that acts as a digital means for construction workers to show that they are qualified to work on-site. It is a cloud-based system that allows construction qualifications to be shared, reported and recorded between employees and employers. SkillFlow allows you to provide a QR code to be scanned when entering a construction site, finally ditching the worry of having to keep a physical CSCS card on you at all times. With up-to-date statuses of your site information, SkillFlow provides employers and site managers easy access to information ready for regulation.
We were happy to help showcase SkillFlow with Catenae Innovation’s CCO Nick Delecamp, a respected and trusted figure in the industry who has helped deliver extensive technological growth to a number of businesses.
Diversity & Inclusion Talk
On the second day of the exhibition, our CEO Umer Mansoor led another diversity and inclusion presentation at the People in Change Theatre, along with guest contributors Rebecca Lovelace from Building People and Bola Abisogun MBE from DiverseCity Surveyors.
At this talk, we discussed ‘the impact of technology on diversity and inclusion in construction’ and what can be done in future efforts to promote needed change in the industry. Issues of diversity and inclusion have always been at the centre of our ethos at Construction Helpline and we hope that through digitising construction this can be done further.
Bag A Builder
Another business that we were eager to showcase at DCW was a
revamped Bag A Builder, with our brand new logo! Bag A Builder is a directory
of local, professional tradespeople who can be easily accessed by both
tradesman and customers looking for builders. Bag A Builder provides customers
the appropriate means to search for the right professional based on trade, distance
and rating. With our state of the art matchmaking system, homeowners and
construction companies will be able to find authenticated, certified and skilled
tradespeople.
Just like UKCW, for those of you who visited our stand may have entered and won
some of our exciting giveaways, with prizes included Hi-Vis Vests, Bag A
Builder tote bags as well as power banks.
Construction Helpline
We still provided time to promote ourselves at DCW, showcasing the fact that we are a leading, nationwide provider of testing and training resources for construction workers looking to make the most of their career. Through providing online CITB tests, CSCS cards, CSCS courses and construction NVQs, we at Construction Helpline hope to improve the safety and efficiency of all construction sites across the UK, with the goal of establishing a more dynamic future for the UK construction industry.
Summary
We feel that DCW was yet another successful exhibition, as we were given the chance to learn, network and discuss construction and technology in a manner that will help revolutionise the industry for all future building projects. Stay tuned to our social media for the latest information on what exhibition we will be at next and we look forward to seeing you there!
