Description :
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Building Maintenance Multi-trade Repair and Refurbishment Operations qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in two or more of the following disciplines Carpentry and Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Tiling, Plastering, Roofing or Trowel Occupations within the construction industry or progress onto further learning. These NVQ qualifications request the learner to demonstrate, in a real workplace environment, that you are competent against a set of performance statements. You are assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you through your programme of learning.
Course Content :
Course content: The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units

– Conforming to Productive Working Practices in the Workplace
– Moving, Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
– Deliver reliable customer service
The learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in some of the following optional units:
– Erecting and Dismantling Access/Working Platforms in the Workplace
– Clearing the Site and Handing Over on Completion in the Workplace
– Establishing Work Area Protection and Safety in the Workplace
– Repairing, Replacing and Renewing Gates, Posts and Fencing in the Workplace
– Maintaining Non-structural Carpentry Work in the Workplace
– Maintaining non-structural or structural components in the workplace
– Applying Paint Systems by Brush and Roller in the Workplace
– Preparing Background Surfaces for Plastering, Tiling, Panelling or Painting/Decorating in the Workplace
– Hanging Standard Paper Wall coverings in the Workplace
– Tiling Wall and Floor Structures in the Workplace
– Preparing Background Surfaces for Plastering, Tiling, Panelling or Painting/Decorating in the Workplace
– Removing and Renewing Floor Screeds in the Workplace
– Preparing Background Surfaces for Plaster work in the Workplace
– Applying Finishing Plaster to Background Surfaces in the Workplace
– Maintaining Slate and Tile Roofing in the Workplace
– Repairing Roof Sheeting and Cladding Systems in the Workplace
– Removing and Repairing Eaves and Verge Finishings in the Workplace
– Repairing membrane roofing systems in the workplace
– Repairing Basic Stonemasonry Structures in the Workplace
– Repairing and Maintaining Masonry Structures in the Workplace
Eligibility :
The minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16+; there are no further entry requirements to take this qualification. This means that you can undertake this qualification without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.
Duration :
3-6 months. Whilst you are working on site you will be visited by your assessor who will guide you through each part of the process, observe you working and provide the highest levels of support until you complete your qualification.
